Transportation

The Geelong region is easily accessible by road, air, train, or sea with excellent connections to Melbourne and regional Victoria.

The State capital is just 50 minutes away via the six lane Princess Freeway and regular train services between Geelong and Melbourne operate seven days a week. The addition of a ring road will assist access down the coast to areas like Torquay and Lorne.

Geelong's Corio Bay is one of Australia's busiest ports too, with bulk handling capacity and links to road and transport networks.

Avalon Airport, Victoria's second commercial airport, is 10 minutes from Geelong city and offers interstate flights with Jetstar as well as carriers servicing regional Victoria. Avalon, owned by transport magnate, Lindsay Fox, is also one of Australia's busiest freight and aircraft maintenance facilities.
